The Artist

All artwork on this site is produced by John Beck McConnico
a fine artist, graphic designer, and creative director who lives and works
in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, John has lived in California since 1993. John graduated from Otis-Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles and also studied Fine Art & Photography at The Memphis College of Art. He works in a variety of mediums, including paint, collage, digital media, and assemblage. John’s work has been featured in publications such as (t)here magazine, Forbes Online, and The Web Design Index from Pepin Press.

Being inspired by urban and rural architectural landscapes, his recent mixed media artwork reflects the industrial fabric that binds our current environments—as well as the imagined characters that occupy the space between. It is this balance between Past/Future and Manufactured/Rustic that informs these visual narratives.

John is also a co-founder and Creative Director of SemiBig Creative Industries, a Berkeley-based multidisciplinary design studio, who’s clients include Cisco, Intuit, and eBay, as well as smaller start-ups.
